Easiest Vanilla Ice Cream

6 cups whole milk
2 cups sugar
1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk (Pet or Carnation)
1 (8-ounce) container Cool Whip, thawed
1 (5.1-ounce) package vanilla instant pudding mix

Beat together all ingredients with electric mixer at medium speed until well-blended. Pour mixture into freezer container of a 5-quart hand-turned or electric freezer. Freeze according to instructions. Pack freezer with additional ice and rock salt and let stand 1 hour before serving. Makes 5 quarts. Place any leftover ice cream in plastic container and freeze. This ice cream re-freezes well.
